Position: Save the Children - Country Director - Papua New Guinea

About the role

A crucial role in the delivery of Save the Children's programs in PNG, the Country Director (CD) will provide strategic direction and guidance to ensure effective programming in a complex and changing environment.

The CD will hold responsibility for facilitating programmatic and operational priorities, whilst ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of Save the Children Australia and Save the Children International (SCI). The role will ensure the growth and sustainability of Save the Children's program portfolio in Education, Health, Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, HIV and Emergencies and work in close collaboration with other SCA country offices to lead our program focus with strategic vision.

The success of the CD will be measured through the management and development of the country program in PNG including: • Program design, development and delivery includingmonitoring and evaluation • Advocacy in key areas of human and children's rights and international development • Human resource oversight across a diverse group of national and expatriate staff, across 4 locations • Comprehensive financial management of the country program • Initiation of strategic partnerships with donors and key stakeholders in the local PNG community. • Securing strategic and sustainable funding opportunities for SCA.

The Country Director (CD) is a senior member of the International Programs team and reports to the Regional Director, Pacific.
